Introduction to Chinatown (Qartier Chinois)

After lunch we continued to explore Old Montreal by foot. Our hotel is right in the heart of several landmarks including the Old Port (waterfront) and China Town. Marked by elaborate archways, Chinatown was packed with people. We found a great Chinese market overflowing with boxes of fresh produce and inside were aisles and aisles tightly packed with strange Chinese foods and fresh fish and meat of all sorts (what appeared to be eel and some kind of small foul). Every other storefront was an authentic restaurant. We spied a noodle restaurant that we plan to return to later this week.
