Au Revoir Montreal

Our last day in Montreal was spent shopping for friends, visiting some of our favorite places in Chinatown and along the Port. We loved our stay in Montreal and will miss it! Au revoir...

Librairie Fichtre - in the posh Plateau District

One of the coolest comic books shops!
Lots of hard to find titles from artists that have been featured in Heavy Metal magazine for years.

This graffiti is a landmark.

Wednesday-Big day ahead-Quick eats

There are several small hole in the wall shops with cheap food.

Very tasty.

Remember to ask for ketchup.

Long day...Let's Pub.

Great pub.

Dirt cheap food and great beer!

Up, up, up the observation tower.

An elevator on the outside of the Olympic Park Stadium took us up to the Observation Tower. Despite a storm that moved in just as we headed up it gave a great view if the city from all sides.

Cote-Vertu Metro

Back to St-Jean Baptiste

du dollar store

Here's the reason I came to Montreal.
I've been looking all over for this damn thing.

We found the IMAX cinema and took in a flic.
The theatre is powered by an arc reactor in the center of the complex.

kidding. Iron man joke.

Place des Arts fountain

People gather there on the lunch hour
to relax. We soaked our feet in the water (as others were doing) to cool down which was refreshing.

Hussle and bussle

Downtown Square

The sun came out and we decided to head out side after walking a few miles through the underground malls.

Monday-Riding on the Metro

It was a dark and stormy morning...
so we decided to go to the underground city via the metro.

Wishing fountains

After having a late supper at a Thai restaurant around the corner, we walked to a private plaza for a nightcap.

The Grand Show Band

Wagner never sounded so good!

A place for more wine.

Circus in the park

They were doing Batman and Robin stunts like flipping from pole to pole and rolling down to the ground end over end.

The Mechanical Man

This is my favorite street performer.
I don't know if the camera picked up the sound but when he moves, he make a mechanical "whine" like a Robocop piston effect. How did he do that?

Uuuuuuugh.

kidding.

We did sleep through breakfast.

After party at the Delta

There was an enormous line to the party floors, so we played "secret agent" and used the service elevators for the staff (don't turn us in si'l vous plait). Saved us an hour wait. What can I say...lots of booze, lots of food and great conversation. Met folks from around the world... from Norway to St. Louis Park, MN. I didn't take many pics though. We were having too much fun.

nuff said!

L'International des Feux Loto-Fire works competition

After the Masquerade, we watched the fireworks from the convention center rooftop.
The fireworks we in sync to the music. Our favorite was the James Bond theme.
The only downer was some rude ameri-can'ts that were shouting at the people in front of them because they were standing. There were no more seats.

Yeah. If anybody asks...were from Winnipeg, eh?

These are rooms dresses with wallpaper poster art that is supposed to represent geek man-caves and or Mom's basement.

Afternoon at Anticipation

Loved the artshow!

Shall I purchase some work for my man-cave?
